Jo is a qualified integrative children and young people’s counsellor from Melton Mowbray.

She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Children and Young People Counselling and an MSc in Counselling Children and Young People and is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). BACP membership number: 00954886.

Jo has 20 years’ experience working with children and young people from Family Support, Learning Mentor and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Practitioner roles.

Butterfly room therapy offers one to one counselling for children and young people aged 5-24 years of age with Jo.


Jo delivers one to one, face to face, online or telephone counselling to clients experiencing a range of mental health difficulties related to trauma, domestic abuse, emotional distress, stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, childhood abuse, grief, lack of confidence and those who self-harm and/or have suicidal thoughts/feelings.


Jo uses a Person-Centred Approach alongside a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as Systemic, Creative, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Play Therapy and Drawing & Talking Therapy, in order to bring about positive change in children and young people.


Jo at Butterfly Room Therapy offers a confidential, safe, non-judgemental, and empathic environment in which children and young people can share and explore challenges that they are experiencing, allowing them to grow and move forward in a positive way.


Jo holds an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate, which is available upon request.
